The role

You own day-to-day operations of our automated 2,000 sq ft mushroom cultivation facility — substrate inoculation through harvest dispatch. You run the cultivation playbook across both growing rooms, manage a small team, operate the automation, and partner with the directors on continuous improvement and expansion. You report directly to the founder.

What you'll own

• Cultivation cycles — Plan and execute weekly cycles across both growing rooms — incubation, pinning, fruiting, harvest.
• Automation — Operate and tune the climate control stack; act on sensor alerts before yield is impacted.
• Team — Supervise, roster, and train 2–4 cultivation workers.
• Process discipline — Maintain SOPs, biosecurity, batch traceability, and FSSAI compliance.
• Distribution — Coordinate dispatch with our distributors; cold-chain integrity from packing to handoff.
• Reporting — Weekly yield, contamination, and loss reporting. Trends, root cause, corrective action.

You should have

• 3+ years hands-on commercial mushroom cultivation experience (oyster preferred)
• Solid grasp of substrate prep, sterilization, and inoculation at scale
• Experience operating or managing controlled-environment agriculture
• Team management experience — you've led workers or run a shift
• Comfort with data — structured logging, spreadsheets, KPI tracking
• Fluent Tamil; conversational English
• A hands-on, on-site operator's instinct — not a desk role

BSc/MSc in Agriculture, Horticulture, or Mycology · PLC / IoT / sensor-system familiarity · HACCP / FSSAI / food-safety credentials · Multi-site cultivation experience · IPM and pest-control expertise.
